Engineering a 49.8-Ton Steel Warehouse for Maximum Efficiency
Latest steel warehouse design: a 41.8m x 17.2m facility featuring an integrated admin mezzanine, a 3.2-ton suspension crane, and 100% bolted connections for rapid, weld-free assembly.
Building Smarter, Not Just Bigger
A modern industrial warehouse is more than just a storage box; it is a highly active ecosystem where administrative planning and heavy-duty production must coexist seamlessly.
Recently, the engineering team at Hyson Industry finalized the design and fabrication strategy for a highly optimized single-story steel structure warehouse. Weighing in at exactly 49.8 tons, this project perfectly demonstrates how precision manufacturing can minimize material waste while maximizing functional capacity and installation speed.

Project Specifications Overview
- Building Type: Single-Story Steel Structure Warehouse
- Dimensions: 41.8m (Length) × 17.2m (Width)
- Total Steel Weight: 49.8 Tons
- Connection Method: 100% Bolted Connections
- Key Features: Integrated Mezzanine Slab & 3.2T Suspension Crane

Engineering Highlight 1: Dual-Zone Spatial Planning
To make the most of the 41.8m × 17.2m footprint, the building was designed with two distinct operational zones:
- The Administrative Area: We engineered and integrated a concrete floor slab system (mezzanine) into the steel framework. This allows the client to house their office staff securely on a secondary level, keeping them close to the production floor without sacrificing valuable ground-level workspace.
- The Production Area: The main hall was kept as a clear-span environment to allow for unrestricted movement of materials and machinery.
Engineering Highlight 2: Supporting Dynamic Heavy Loads
A warehouse isn't static. In the production zone, the client required the installation of a 3.2-ton suspension crane. Suspending heavy machinery from a roof structure requires rigorous load calculations. Our engineers reinforced the primary steel roof trusses and structural columns to safely absorb both the static dead weight of the crane and the dynamic kinetic energy (vibrations and lateral sway) generated during lifting operations. This ensures long-term structural integrity and absolute safety for the workers below.

Engineering Highlight 3: 100% Bolted Connections (Zero On-Site Welding)
Perhaps the most significant value-add of this 49.8-ton project is the assembly method. Every single connection in this structure is designed to be bolted.
Why does this matter to the client?
- Rapid Installation: Welding on-site is slow, weather-dependent, and requires highly paid certified welders. Bolting is a fast, "plug-and-play" process.
- Guaranteed Quality: A 100% bolted design relies on absolute factory precision. Using our high-power CNC laser cutters and automated drilling lines at Hyson's Nantong facility, we ensure every bolt hole aligns to the millimeter. Quality control happens in our factory, not in the mud of the construction site.
